Aaron Boupendza |
Gabonese forward Aaron Boupendza is on the verge of joining Egyptian giants Zamalek as a free agent on a three-year deal. Boupendza has had an impressive career, most notably during his time at Hatayspor in Turkey, where he became the top scorer in the Süper Lig during his debut season, netting 22 goals in 36 appearances.
Following his success in Turkey, Boupendza moved to the Middle East, playing for Al-Arabi in Qatar and Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia before a brief stint with FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer (MLS). His contract with Cincinnati was terminated in August 2024 due to disciplinary issues, but his undeniable talent has kept him on the radar of top clubs.
Zamalek's decision to bring in Boupendza is a strategic move to bolster their attacking options, with the player’s experience and goal-scoring ability expected to be a significant asset as they aim to reclaim dominance in both domestic and continental competitions. Boupendza's addition to the squad could prove pivotal for Zamalek's ambitions in the upcoming seasons, providing them with a proven goal scorer and a seasoned international player.
